Our Community
Community outreach is right at the heart of the vision of St Mark's to go further out into society and as such there is a wide range of areas where St Mark's is reaching out into the local community and the wider world.
These range from providing debt counselling to those who are in need (CAP); working in Wandsworth prison and providing resettlement assistance for ex-offenders; running a youth cafe Infuse every Thursday afternoon; activities for carers and toddlers (Rise & Shine); and sending out teams into the local community every Saturday to pray for people (HOTS). We are also due to start a new outreach into Clapham Junction every Friday and Saturday night called Night Pastors.
There are also a whole host of community transformation projects including gardening and decorating projects, community parties and tea parties for the elderly!
We also have a thriving sports ministry and there are opportunities to get involved in our two football teams and touch rugby.
Here are two amazing stories of how God is transforming the lives of people in our local community:
Social action
“My garden was such a mess that my kids couldn’t play in it. Thanks to a group from St Mark’s, who cleared it, they now can and my life is so much better!”
Healing on the Streets
“We prayed with a lady who had a bad knee. She said she felt heat and the pain went down. She came back with her sister an hour later and said the knee was much better!”

Further afield
We are also passionate about reaching out further afield and have a number of Mission Partners working in the UK and overseas ministering God’s love.
The Global Action group aims to help more people be educated and energized about issues of international injustice (poverty, trade injustice, climate change, slavery etc.) The UK Action group is for those with a concern to campaign and contribute in active citizenship on UK national issues.
