TfT was founded in 1977 by Martin Hallett and the late Canon L Roy Barker.

The overall responsibility for the running of the Trust lies with the Board of Trustees.
TfT is affiliated to the UK Association of Christian Counsellors (membership no. AF64).
There is a Code of Conduct for all our employees and voluntary workers, and guidelines on confidentiality and child protection which we expect all to follow. An official complaints procedure also exists. Copies of these are available on request.

True freedom Trust is a Christian support and teaching ministry for men and women seeking help for homosexual, lesbianism or similar issues. We also offer support to families, friends and church leaders of those who face these issues in their lives. Our office is in the North West of England where our staff workers are based. We have Support Groups and Voluntary Workers (men & women) across the UK. We also provide help and encouragement to people overseas through e-mail and correspondence. In addition we have four private e-mail support groups for TfT members - for men, women, wives and parents.

We are pleased to announce that we have just appointed a female full-time staff worker to the team at TfT. Her name is Susanna and she will be joining us in September. Susanna introduces herself in the Summer Newsletter, which can be found by going to the Newsletters link. A new page for women has also recently been added to the site. There are links from this to articles and testimonies for ladies.
