Global Action
Love justice? Take action!
The issues of poverty and injustice can seem so overwhelming that we feel powerless to make a difference. But God is moving and his love can transform the lives of poor and vulnerable people across the world. We can be part of God's global mission by standing up for justice.
What can we do?
We believe that at St Mark's we have the potential to make an impact. By joining together to campaign as a church, on issues such as trade justice, people trafficking and climate change we can make our voice heard, demonstrate God's love and bring justice to the world.
Global warming will affect poor people the most but we can help by putting pressure on the Government to reduce CO2 emissions.
Trade laws stop millions of people from escaping poverty but we can campaign to reform the current unjust systems.
Acting together for greater impact
We can take action by lobbying our MP, attending rallies and making lifestyle changes such as buying fair trade products and switching off the lights! As a church we will join major campaigns to address issues affecting the world’s poor. Movements like the Jubilee Debt Campaign and Make Poverty History have shown that when people come together things can change and governments do listen. The problems are big but God is bigger.
We are following in the footsteps of people who show us that stepping out in faith can change the world.
