Richard Chilvers

Richard Chilvers is working as a volunteer with the Free Burma Rangers. He is a mission partner of Interserve. His job is media manager where the aim is to highlight the situation in Burma. There are more than 500,000 internally displaced people in Burma, forced out of their homes by the war machine of the Burma Army in its campaign of slow genocide against the ethnic groups including the Karen, Arakan, Kachin, Karenni, Chin and others. FBR exists to bring help, hope and love to these displaced people by training members of these ethnic groups in health care, human rights documentation and helping people move to places of safety. FBR is a Christian NGO which seeks to bring God's love to these people practically and spiritually. FBR works with members of the ethnic groups regardless of their religious beliefs.

Richard is a journalist who formerly worked for Christian Solidarity Worldwide and Tearfund as a press officer. He then did a two year degree in biblical and intercultural studies at All Nations Christian College.
