Christina Kelling

South Sudan is the world's newest country having gained independence in July 2011. It is also one of the world's poorest countries having had very little investment in infrastructure, healthcare or education during the decades of civil war with the north.

Medair has been working in South Sudan since 1991 with an emergency response objective: to increase access to health care and nutrition services, safe water, sanitation, and hygiene.

Christina joined the team in November 2011 working as Base Manager at their office in Juba, the capital of South Sudan. She oversees the maintenance of the facilities, including hospitality for those travelling to and from remote field sites. She's gradually picking up Arabic from the local staff.

Before joining Medair Christina was part of the Global Action Group at St Mark's, working to challenge global injustice
