Richard
Chilvers is currently studying for a two-year degree in Biblical and
Intercultural Studies at All Nations Christian
College in Hertfordshire, a few miles north of London. He completed his
first year in June 2007. The course includes topics such as Biblical Interpretation,
Hebrew Bible and Theology, Gospels and Acts, as well as Development Studies,
New Testament Greek, Car maintenance, Tropical health and hygiene and many others.
Practical ministry includes being attached to a church in Stevenage and learning
about HIV and Advocacy.
In the summer of 2007 he went to the Thailand/Burma border for six weeks where
he taught English at the Noh Bo Academy School for students from the Karen ethnic
group who fled the violence in Burma. He also taught on Christian leadership
at the Noh Bo Bible School. This placement was arranged through Crosslinks
mission agency.
